Yacht Solutions successfully complete the first Luxury motor yacht refit in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand.
 In late December last year the captain of a Motor Yacht contacted the Thailand based marine management company Yacht Solutions asking for assistance as their planned yard work in China had fallen through 10 days prior to haul out. The captain asked if Yacht Solutions could offer any alternatives. During the festive period a berth was arranged along side on the Chao Far River in Bangkok and a yard arranged for the necessary refit work scheduled for the yacht. On the 21st January the yacht entered the dock yard and by the 22nd work was underway to complete a list of works originally scheduled for 4 months with only 10 weeks remaining.
For privacy reasons, the owner has requested the name of the yacht to be with-held. She was a 53m Proteksan Yacht and was re-fitted in a dry dock in Bangkok Dock in the heart of Bangkok. Bangkok Dock has two dry docks, largest being 110m in length, a skilled workforce and a duty free bonded warehouse on site.
The works successfully completed whilst in Bangkok:
- 5 Year ABS Survey
- Painting of vessel (hull, superstructure and owners areas)
- Installation of new satellite dome
- Fabrication of major stainless support for new satellite dome
- Installation of new gantry cranes
- Fabrication of major aluminum boxes to house new gantry cranes
- Installation of ABS approved sonar
- Minor corrosion repair and antifouling of hull
- Various engineering repairs and servicing
- Service cranes and motors
- Service all safety equipment
- Replacement of mattresses, carpets and curtains
- Upgrade of all computer systems on board
- Installation of new PABX system
- Various large carpentry projects
 Yacht Solutions project management team brought together their naval architect, the yard, local contractors and the crew to complete all tasks with only one job being sent overseas due to coding requirements. Certain skilled contractors from Phuket were used on this project however the majority of work was carried out by companies in Bangkok.
The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
 Yacht Solutions is keen to promote the re-fit and re-build capability of Bangkok and are now working with a variety of yards to ensure any work required can be offered to the high quality, coded standards modern luxury yachts demand. Since the successful completion of this refit, Yacht Solutions have a few other projects in the pipeline of a larger scale.
